Questions about Diablosport tuners for my SVT

I am tired of the cruise surging and bog at take-off that the car exhibits, and I have read that Tom @ Focus Power's tune solves these issues. I have been trying to find a good used tuner on ebay to save some $$$ but have a couple questions:

1. A lot of the used tuners I see have been used on Mustangs. If they have been unlocked/reset can they be reprogrammed to work on a Focus?

2. Does anyone know what Tom charges to program his tune onto a used tuner?

BTW the car is stock except for a K&N filter.

Thanks....

I have one and I'm not a firm believer that the unit locks completely... PM me if you want.

the tune is ~$400 from tom shipped to your door (lower 48) with free updates for life while N/A. If you buy the tuner separate, you may have to pay for shipping both ways ontopp of the tune, or purchase cables to hook up to computer. it hasn't solved the bogging in first with the a/c on and the high temps seen here in S FL. without the a/c on its AMAZING. both my zx3 (untuned) and the SVT (tuned) bog(ged) during summer time. drivability is drastically enahnced.

It's a spring/fall car, not a summer/winter car :) I just deleted the A/C from one of mine because it made the car completely useless. The only time I miss it is on long trips on the summertime, but that's what the other car is for.

I weighed all the A/C shit after I removed the accumulator, lines, compressor, condenser, and some plumbing. It all weighed 80lbs in total. Doesn't seem like a lot, but its all at the nose, too. I moved the braille battery to the trunk and installed a carbon fiber hood, and I can't stress how much better it corners with the improved weight distribution.

do not get a tuner that was used on a mustang. it wont work with the focus.

get a SCT from Tom. dont get the diablosport. the SCT has better features not to mention that the Diablosport Predators are more than 4 years old. the SCT XCal3 just came out bit over a year ago. also, the SCT can datalog widebands where the Predator cannot.

get the SCT from Tom

My best SVT tune is for the Diablo Predator , the Predator has been updates as many times as the SCT has just the outer parts looks the same

The Predator will do anything thing the X3 will do but to have analog and if your not going to to go FI then there is no need to have analog AF

I like and support the Predator 100% they both have there issues and they both work well

Tom

I like the Predator from a hardware and software perspective. It always works, and the data logging software and serial to USB is flawless.

However, the SCT uploads/downloads 10x faster.
