Quick i need cheap performance mods!

Ok so i have some childish kid that drives a crx. likes to talk alot of bs if u know what i mean. I have a 2000 ford focus with a svt swapped in it out of an 02 focus. He always pulls on me in first and second. Then in 3rd gear i smoke him and the race is over. I just wanna really smoke him this time. So does anyone know of any cheap mods i can do to this thing by friday? Money is not an issue! Whats the best mods and no not a supercharger cause that would take time to tune and put on. Im talkin somethan to get me around 50hp!

Sorry...not gonna happen.

First off, do you have an aftermarket tune?
That would help more than anything at this point if you don't.
(See Tom - 1turbofocus on these boards)

Second off,
Which tranny did you bolt on that SVT engine??
Getrag 6spd or MTX-75 5 spd??
If it's the Getrag, just forget about beating that CRX. (in a straight line)
It does not have short enough gears for 1/4 mile performance.
Short of puting a blower on it, you're never going to beat a CRX from a dig with the Getrag.

If you do in fact have the MTX-75 with it's better drag race gearing, then see my suggestion about a tune from above.
ORP or HFC would compliment the tune, though you're not going to be anywhere near 50 hp gain.

What all do you have currently done to the engine?

... Um ... if you have the SVT Engine, it's pretty strong already and there are NO mods to add that are not Forced Induction to get another 50 ... heck or another 20hp out of it NA.

If you have the SVT ECU you may just need a tune and a Larger Throttle body to loose that First Gear Bog ... if you feel it.

Try loosing some weight also. Those CRXs are light. You need to loose some weight to help.

And when you go to the Track ... just catch the tree at the right moment and you will have him.

Ive smoked him plenty of times. and yes i have the getrag. It kinda helps me actually with the longer gears haha. But i dont have a tune yet. I guess ill leave it as it is for this friday and beat him again. I just wanted to leave him in the dust! lol But how much does a tune run?

great minds think alike.

Good suggestion on the weight reduction, and that's FREE!
Focused37; you'd be surprised how much difference it makes if you pull out the the spare (and components) and rear seats.

IIRC, Tom charges ~$400 including the tuning unit.
He does either Diablo Predator or SCT XCalibrator.

If you arent already, you can always keep less gas in the tank too. Gas weighs around 6lbs a gallon. Keep the tank to around 1/8 -1/4 full when racing, 10 gallons would weigh around 60lbs...

Lol, you could also go on a diet if you are bigger person

1)street racing off the track is illegal. 2)crx's are super light. foci is greater in weight by a shit load. 3)depends on what he's running. B16? i doubt he swapped a b18 in there. overall you should win almost everytime. he's too slow. lulz
