Head cover options?

The silver coating on my head/valve/ohc cover (or whatever they call the thing) is in some need of attention. Can this coating be stripped easily or does it need to be media blasted?

Any tips?

Can't delete, since that's the first post in this "merged" thread.

AFAIK, most folks that have touched up their valve covers just lightly sanded it before shooting with paint.

I just scuffed mine up with a scotch brite pad, then wet sanded it with some 600 grain sand paper, then painted it black with some high heat spray paint. Turned about pretty good

Did you have any issues with the factory coating 'bubbling'?
