is it normal for you to have weird idle after a oil change? i had it changed at the ford dealership. had weird idle for like 40 seconds and them seemed to smooth out.

describe weird. more than likely it was just getting oil throughout the system and once it did it settled down. maybe they didn't fill the filter or something?

checked oil today. they used the correct oil. 5w-20. that is what it looked like to me. only thing i hate about 5w20 is it is thin and hard to see on the dipstick when new. ran like a champ today.

It's prolly just coincidence that it happened after the oil change. Could be an o2 sensor starting to go out, when my front o2 went the car sounded like it was ''cammed'' upon start up. If it was entirely bad you would obviously throw a cel, prolly just a fluke.

That's not the correct oil for the SVT model.
Check your SVT Owners Manual Supplement...you're supposed to be filling it with 5W-30.
You're absolutely right in that the 5W-20 is thin...too thin for the revs and loads that the SVTF sees, which is why the factory switched to 5W-30 for this model.

And, you're not the only one that's done this.
There's been quite a few people make the same mistake.
If you want to change it out right away, by all means do it, but it won't be too hard on the engine if you wait till the next oil change.
I just wouldn't be running on the track or pushing it too hard until you do.

The next question, is what oil filter did they use??
