Clutch question

Hi everybody,

My svt started to suffer clutch sliping from a few months ago, nothing big, but a couple weeks ago I got cought by storm while driving, sudenly the street got flooded and I made it to go thru.

after that, I started to feel kind of raspy when pushing the cluth pedal, but that sensation disappeared after car got warm, well it finally got broken.

when dismounting the clutch, first problem found was, the salve melt inside, bearings stuck due to the water I guess.

but here is my question, the disc pads were all metal on both sides, flywheel and plate were worn out about 2mm each. do the disc pads come all metal from stock? because the guy at the shop said that it is to much for street driving, "I would use four metal pads per side, in order to have an agresive shifting but still street driveable"

I bought my SVT used about a year ago, do you guys think this clutch was repaired o maight be the original., my SVT has a millage of 66,300

thanks for your comments

i don't know personally, but i would think someone else would, but they should have some sort of fiber padding on them, not just bare metal. and if it really did wear down the plate and flywheel that much they are probably junk too. see what everyone else thinks?

I am sure parts are Luk, I saw the mark(at least plate and flywheel), but disc did not look like the one in the picture, the 8 segments/pads are separated, and their shape are more like break pads, but shorter.

they where not bare metal, but basicaly metal massed pads.

well but I think there is the answer to my question, definitively the disc is not the same as the OEM.

now I wonder how much my car was abused by the prior owner
