How can I tell if I have the stock tune?

Posting this here as well because maybe SVT folks know more quickly/easily. Is there a way to tell if an SVT Focus has the stock tune WITHOUT paying Ford $100 for a diagnostic??? I feel like there must be...

(trying to install Tom's tune and the DiabloSport says "unable to load tune: there may have been a tune already installed")

It should erase the tune or stock tune thats on there and replace it. It may not be reading it correctly.

Well right, but it's saying there may not be a stock tune on it currently (though I really don't think either of the previous owners has tuned it)...is there some kind of diagnostic tool that will allow me to see the tune that is on there currently?

There is no devise that I know if that will tell if it is a stock tune or a Diablo/SCT , Diablo and SCT have the ability to look at a read from the ECU to see if changes have been made over stock but they charge for that

If you take 2 keys to Ford and get a reflash and your Predator is unlocked then it should load right up , Ford charging 100.00 to do a reflash is crazy as it takes 15-20 total to do , I would go to the Ford manager and see why there charging you 300.00 to 400.00 per Hr for work at there dealership

My dealer here charges 35.00 to do this

I have been having this problem, but I haven't had extra money to take it to the dealer until now.

The dealer stated that it would be $100 for a diagnostic at the very least. I agree that this is ridiculous, and I may go to the manager now that you mention it. But I haven't taken my car in yet, so maybe I should just try to find another dealer instead of messing around with this one.

The 2 dealers in town (both under the same ownership) will both charge $99 for the reflash. The service manager at the second one was way less of a douche than the first one, though, and told me that they would check for the latest updates for $30, and then if I wanted the reflash depending on what that said, they would charge $99 total.

When I told him about how your dealer charges $35 for a reflash, he said "well they must have something set up with that dealer then." I'm going to call another dealer that's about a half hour away and see what they can tell me.

Thats funny , they charge 35.00 to check for the latest update ? Thats a 3 min job on the internet to Ford

Your Ford dealers there in my opinion are screwing you and tell them I said that , it takes 15 min to do this job , ask them how much they charge an Hr and I bet it isnt 99.00

No I do NOT have a special deal with my local dealer they just know that I know how long it takes to do a flash and I wouldnt stand for it and went to the owner , sence then its been 35.00. He knew I would find 5 people needing cash and put them in front of the dealership with signs saying "I got charged 300.00 an Hr here , stay away"
