SVT Comp Cams

I've been looking at cams for my svt and comp has their severe street/ competition cams, part number 108200. It says there only good to 2002 zetec focus's, so they won't work in my 03 svt I'm guessing?

What's the reason for that?

I'm not sure on the specs of the stock SVT cams, but if these are for the standard Zetec, chances are they are less aggressive than the stock SVT cams.

Edit: SVT OEM specs -
duration 277 / 265
duration 230 / 220

Comp specs -
Duration 281/281
Lift .381/.381

I'm guessing the problems lies in the ability to accept VCT

I dont think you'd see much improvement changing away from the FoMoCo cams you have now. There's been a couple places in Europe that have done some, but from what I've seen here in the forums the factory cams are the best choice for cars. There's a few threads on cam selection.

CFM sells cams for the SVT and ones that you can keep you VCT with. i have thought about it but after buying the cams and dyno tuning it it would be over $1000 for not much to show for it other than a bitchen lope..

Zetec cams are not even close to being compatible with an SVT. It goes beyond the VCT. They won't even fit in the head correctly, or use the same buckets, or valve springs.

Overall there's very little aftermarket for the SVTF imo. I've done all the bolt-ons and still want more. Now I'm pricing boosted built engines :)

I agree that cams aren't something your average SVTf driver will be changing, but on a properly built engine, different cams will result in more than 5 whp...
