building a 180 svt hoss

IM getting a svt ordered in the next 2 weeks and then the first thing im doin is sending it off to have some head work done. I want to run the rpms from 4500 to 8k for dirt racing purposes on circle tracks.

If any one has any ideas or tips let me know. I know about the reg zetec but the svt is a new baby for me. Does anyone have any ideas on how to build a 185 whp monster

Good luck, It's expensive to get 185 whp in a n/a focus. go for a bit of boost.

Porting the head wont do much at all , The SVT head does good as it is and has shown little improvement on the flowbench or dyno from porting

If you can and are willing to run higher compression and 105-110 octane fuel then up the compression and add some of the more aggressive CAT cams , loose the CAT and o a 3 inch Exh and you should be about to your 185HP target with a very good tune

i already run a 421 obx header n 110 pump gas and have xcal 3. What cams do i need. And where can i get vct delete kit at.... As far as porting ideas was... i was gonna stay in the valve bowls on count of tech inspection at the track. So they couldnd just take a header in im off and seeit easy and take the race winnings and trophy. Lol . And how would u go about a 12 something to 1 comperession and still run whatever cams u suggest. thanks for the help crash

loose the POS OBX and get a SVT header for the best power , your wasting your time with doing anything to the head and may even hurt the flow

You have a ZX2 ? If so the SVT header wont work and I sure wouldnt install the SVT head on the ZX2 , the ZX2 intake wont work on the SVT head , the runners wont line up
