Wrapped header, now HUGE loss of power.

I have no idea why, but after wrapping my header and installing it, I have no power. The car actually feels like it's slower when the secondaries open. I double checked the exhaust and nothing is clogged. Any ideas?

It could just be a coincidence. The only thing you disconnect to get the header off is the fan relay. That won't kill power. Did you take anything else off? Does the car get louder than normal when you floor it?

this is impossible. i think your butt-dyno is waaay off and expecting way too much. by simply wrapping the header, you will not loose power.

what harness' did you unplug? cause im thinking there might be something unplugged....

Maybe you did not tighten the bolts down tight enough and their is exhaust leaking out like crazy at the top into your engine bay.

I wasn't expecting any HP increase from the wrap. I just wanted to bring down the bay temps and I think it does a good job of making the bay look cleaner. I"ll have to check harness's tomorrow. I didn't unplug anything though. The header comes off the flex pipe and there is nothing attached to the header except the heat shield. Nothing else got unplugged when taking it off.

There is a considerable lack of power in the car. When I floor it in first off the line, it feels like it's bogging down and feels like the torque falls/drops when the secondaries open. It also feels like this in any gear.

Brian

Is that right next to the wind shield washer fluid?
