to go 3" or not?

i found a good deal on some exhaust piping. they have them in both 2.5 and 3" and i woant to know if it is work getting the 3" piping and flax pipe or to stay with the stock size. i have my stock header on of course..lol and the CFM ORP right now. i know this has been asked but im to lazy to serch it..lol so no bitching.

but has their been any proven HP gains performance gains or any thing from steping up to a 3". only ask cause the 3" piping is only a few $ more.

Is it the same price for both sizes??? I or is it like a minimal difference. If it's minimal or even the same, why not go for the 3".

I remember you talking about doing some sort of FI later ... so why not start preparing now.

the 2.5 is 120 and the 3" is 195. so not a huge drop down in price but still not bad. but then i have to get the flex pipe as well and those are 100 for the 2.5 and 140 for the 3". then i think i have to get a new res and muffler. or could i use the ones i have. these are all stainless.

I would stick with 2.5 and not waste your money on the 3inch. Unless you have plans for a turbo.

3" with an ORP is going to be loud as hell. Stick with 2.5" unless you're boosting. There are no performance gains to be had with 3" on a non-boosted SVT.

That's why I stated that, he was thinking about jumping into FI ... but of course if he stays NA, stick with the 2.5.

lol, i THOUGHT i was going to stay NA so i got a 2.5". and damn! along comes a deal on a NIB turbo kit....now a need a 3"

if you have ANY inclinations of bewst, get the 3" with a resonator between the flex and the muffler

one more thing, if you want to see some 3" exhaust PRON, check out CaysE's !! [fap][fap]

Again really depends on the turbo kit. The outlet on my roush kit is all 2.5. and Im not going to runnin a load of booost. So im going 2.5in. If I get bored in the future I will switch to 3 inch and post the results.
