Quietest high flow cat? + stock exhaust?

I'm looking on purchasing a high flow catalytic converter. not so much because of emission but because of noise. I want to get some performance yet keep my car as quiet as possible!

I've been looking on youtube but I can't find anyone with the combo I'm thinking of doing.

so here are my questions.

1. what is the quietest high flow cat out there?

2.would it sound horrible with the full svt stock exhaust system? or a nice deep stock sounding tone? (I don't mind it just a little louder than stock)

let me know guys!

thanks!

Unfortunately any HFC is going to be noticeably louder than stock, but on the stock SVT exhaust, it will give you a deeper exhaust tone.

I have the RT cat and stock exhaust. It sounds pretty nice to me, but will get loud when you are beating on it....as it should. Normal putting around is unobtrusive and I wouldn't want it any louder. Stock system works about as well as any aftermarket and is probably as quiet as you are going to get with a HF cat.

It is possible to make an exhaust that is quieter than stock, but it's expensive. I believe Cayse's exhaust is supposed to be quieter than stock since he has a huge center muffler and a big oval, offset rear muffler.

Actually I take that back. I think Matt's exhaust (mellephants) was designed to be quieter. You can PM him about it.

The key to a quiet Exhaust is putting the biggest center Resonator in the car as you can and a good muffler. My preference is for a Magnaflow Resonator and a Borla muffler. I have one in my car with an ORP and its really quiet.

The helmet has a special meaning for many drivers. How important is it to you? - It protects my head.

Do you have any special rituals when the helmet is concerned like many have? - I wipe it so that I can see better.

Mine is definitely not quieter than stock... I just wanted 3" but as quiet as possible. It's still kinda loud in the resonant area between 2k-3k rpms.

I think a CFM high flow cat + stock exhaust would be fine for daily driving.

Yeah sorry, I forgot whether it was you or Matt who had a quiet exhaust. I know for sure it was Matt who said it now.
