SVT gas mileage question...

If I get 350km's per tank, I'm extremely lucky. I'm usually around 320.

First off, if the mods have to move this thread, no problem... not sure where to put this.

So since I got my SVT, I've replaced:
-plugs
-air filter
-fuel filter
-cleaned MAF
-changed coolant
-regular oil changes
-maintained tire air pressure

That's all fine but are there sensors I should change?

Should I change the fuel injectors?

I don't care, I'll change whatever as long as I'm not changing complete engine parts.

350 KM is 217 miles. I get 250 to 300 miles to a tank usually mostly in town you you should be getting over 400 km to a tank. If you have a bad censor you would have a CEL. So if no CEL. Try cleaning the fuel injectors with sea foam which I think works best.

And of course a lead foot is the biggest gas killer

How many miles on the car?
With a good tune, you should be up to 600Km a tank...
Without, mixed (sensible) driving, you should be able to squeak in 500Km.

I'd change your front o2 sensor, reset your PCM and check your e-brake cable/back brakes for drag as well...
Then get a tune!

Ok, well the only thing I haven't done then is change out the o2 sensor and check the brake cable. The next time it's nice out, I'll take the rear wheels off and check for drag.

The plugs are gapped at whatever they're supposed to be gapped at according the Haynes manual.

Well, looks like as soon as I recover financially from my suspension setup, I'll be getting Tom to send me his stock SVT tune.

edit. I've also asked what other Canadian Focus drivers are getting and it sounds like they're close to about 400km's per tank.

I'll confirm the gap in my sparkplugs.

I'll try to find that seafoam stuff around here. Worst case scenario is I hop over the border and find an auto parts store that carries it in WA. I've tried other fuel system cleaning liquids on previous cars and I never found they did anything.

My 600Km is about 90% highway...and as I mentioned, with a tune and a fresh o2 (and other mods...Volant intake, AEM MAF housing, CFM high-flow cat, lunchbox delete, copper plugs, FRPP plug wires).
I'm sure the tune is responsible for most of the gains however...

I use to get 400Km mixed if I was driving it pretty hard...I think for average driving, you should be a lot closer to 500Km a tank than that.
