AC compressor and heater core delete

I will be removing the AC compressor and heater core from my track only SVT. Has anyone else done this? A couple of questions come to mind

1) Accessory belt. Obviously I'm going to need a smaller belt, anyone know what size? Also any harm in essentially removing the compressor pulley and changing the belt path?

2) Heater core. I'm guessing I just create my own coolant tube and connect the heater core fluid source to the heater core fluid return? Does such a tube already exist?

3)Any other issues or ramifications I'm not considering?

I may have found an answer to question 1), would this work with the no AC option?

That's a good point, it is cool and damp in the morning sometimes and although I have yet to run in the rain, I hear they still do. I have yet to need my defroster on the track but I'm also just getting started.

Anyone have an idea on what the heater core weighs?

Maybe 12# full of coolant. To make the removal worth while you wuld need to remove the entire heater assy and duct work. 30# for everything.

I've had to use the defrost several times over the years. 100mph with a fogging windshield could get dicy.

In my old club racer I ran without an A/C defrost for a few years. I'm in the midwest so I got my far share of situations where my window could fog up. I always used Rain-X anti-fog on my windshield, drivers and pass. side window and never had an issue.

When I deleted my heater core I made my own cooling lines that ran down to the lower firewall and mounted another small anti-freeze cooler down there. Maybe you can fab something up like that to help with keeping the engine a few degrees cooler. Just an idea. GL!

your gonna want your heatercore. I took mine out of a bronco i used to race off road and boy o boy did i regret that. Leave it in, your going to get fog on the inside of your windows guarenteed!

And as for the ac delete. Just get a svt belt with no ac.

you can loop the lines going to the heater core or just reroute the lines to the oil cooler, that's my plan.

I would leave the Heater Core , the defrost is a must have in the East.

The helmet has a special meaning for many drivers. How important is it to you? - It protects my head.

Do you have any special rituals when the helmet is concerned like many have? - I wipe it so that I can see better.

you can get the belt from the auto parts store just ask them for the one with no AC, that's what I did, and make sure you put it back on the same way... without the ac obviously lol
here you go:

belt diagram

you want to skip number 5 so just go straight from 3 to 6
