Question Question about 2003 Euro-appearance SVT

First post!

I looked at a 2003 SVT today that I think has the Euro-appearance package. The seller didn't know whether it did or not, but he also told me that all SVTs were turbo-charged. It has 72k miles, body is in beautiful condition, engine compartment looks a bit neglected. $5900 but it has been salvaged and rebuilt. Damage was hood and both HID lights. Bumpers appear to be original so I think it must have gone under a pick-up truck at low speed. Radiator appears to be original too. It tracks perfectly with no noises.

This car has the audiophile package, cold-weather package, full-leather Recarro seats, Xenon headlamps, multi-spoke wheels (15? didn't count them)... Are there any other things that set apart the EA package? There was no SVT logo on the hatch, which makes me think that the hatch had been replaced at some time too.

Oh, it was black. I read what was on Wikipedia and they mentioned that the EA package was available in orange and yellow. Did it come in any other colors?

OK, don't flame me for saying this... I'd like to buy this car as a daily driver while my 88 Fiero GT is off the road for some upgrades. BTW, the Fiero has been lowered 1.5" (drop spindles and coil-overs) and has had a '95 crate engine from a Monte Carlo installed with custom exhaust, ECM, etc. The engine is a 3.4, 4-cam, 24 valve with aluminum heads. The SVT seemed a bit slow in comparison but would be a lot easier to live with on a daily basis.

Thanks! I look forward to reading through the forums!

LOL. All SVT's were turbocharged. Comp.Orange & Screaming Yellow were exclusive in 03 TO ZX3 SVTF equipt. w/EAP package & all options (HID's, Heated Recaros, Signature Wheels, block heater). EAP package available on red & silver also that year. In 04 EAP available on ZX3's & ZX5's. No SVTfocuses came factory turbo'd.

Errrmmm...it's turbo'd? Hate to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt there's a turbo on that thing.

$5900 for a salvage title car is a waste of money. Tell him he's smokin rocks.

As far as I know, EAP was only offered in orange and yellow like you said.

Just because the SVT emblem is gone doesn't mean it's a new hatch. Could have debadged it for that "stealth JDM look, yo."

EAPs came in Black, Red, Blue, Silver, Yellow and Orange. The main distinguishing feature for the EAP is probably the Recaro seats. I think you could probably get the price lower for a salvaged title. Run a carfax report on it, thats probably going to be your best bet. SVTs are waayy fun, not really the best on MPG for a four cyl. and it uses premium gas but fun none the less!!! And NO, there are NO SVT's that came from factory with any boost (turbo or sc).

Thanks for the replies. I knew that there were no factory turbo SVTs but I wasn't going to get into an argument with the guy.

Fordcus Fan says no black EA SVTs. UtahSVT says they did come in black. Any way to get a definitive answer?

My 03 euro svt is black. So I'm pretty sure they came in black LOL. 5900!? Not on a salvage dude. Also all euros had 15 spoke grey rims.

The EAP includes the full leather seats, engine block heater, heated seats, the 15 spoke wheels, and I think a slightly different wing.

^^^ is the same wing in all of them, the only exterior changes are the wheels and the headlights.

Wing is the same.

But yeah.. 5900 for a salvage title SVT is rediculous, you can find non-salvage SVTs for that.

Oh, and how it runs doesnt mean squat when buying SVTs.. you need to look at the details.. Timing belt, Oxygen Sensors, Thermostat Housing, etc.
