Original SVT clutch size

What was the diameter of the original SVT clutch, pre-tsb? Trying to sort out the clutch on the Black SVT and need to know what I've got. Pulled the trans today and have a 8 7/8" pressure plate. Is that the original size? Seems like the current clutches are 9 7/16"?

Sounds right. Not sure if the new ones at 9 7/16...thought it was 9 1/16 but I could be wrong. Either way, the old one was less than 9" and the new one is over 9".

I've actually got a Fidanza flywheel and what appears to be a Clutchmasters clutch. I'm confused on what 'vintage' it is. As I understand there was the original oem clutch, the new tsb clutch (which is bigger and not interchangeable with the original), and now the non-ford pressure plate set from late 2007 when the original pressure plate became obsolete? Someone may be able to correct me if I'm wrong or fill in the blanks if there are any. My problem now is that the clutch disc is cooked and I'm trying to figure out what options I have, mostly wanting to reuse the flywheel if I can.

Also, it would seem the Clutcmasters clutch is a warmed over LUK?

That's an older version of a clutchmaster clutch and pressure plate. Once Ford started the TSB(2006), Clutch Master revised their clutch kits to match the new TSB size clutches.

You're going to have to order and entire new flywheel and clutch kit.

also another way you can tell is look at the starter ring teeth, you see how they "stick out" further than the outside of the flywheel. On the new version, the teeth are almost parallel to the side of the flywheel

So, if you had a stock SVT, with an original clutch, could you still get a clutch from Ford? Not that I would, I'm just curious if you were in the situation of needing a clutch on an original SVT, would you have to upgrade to the TSB clutch if you were going with a OEM Ford clutch.

So, are you going with the LUK kit with their flywheel? $500 or so, I think? And you're boosted, or not?

yes, i have a JRSC. I already have an TSB Luk clutch, and since I broke my flywheel bolts and already have the tranny down and clutch out. I went to Ford today to order the flywheel bolts, and see if I could just buy a Luk clutch plate without the pressure plate. Since I already have a light weight Spec flywheel that's going to replace the old TSB dual mass flywheel.

But no, they don't just sell the clutch disk by themselves. so my TSB clutch will go back in with my Spec light weight flywheel.
