SVT questions!

Hi there, im new to the site.. just picked up my 2002 svt focus tonight...i needs rear pads/rotors and possibly fronts too....are they special sizes in these cars or just normal focus rotors and such? Clutch is on its way out within a couple months id say, any idea what it would cost me for parts for this car? This is my first SVT, i just switched over from a Volkswagen jetta 1.8t so this is all new to me. Any help would be appreciated! thanks....Rik

Welcome to FF, Rik....lots of good info here. Do a search in the stickys and you should be able to find most of the info you need pretty quickly. One thing I'd caution -- having had my '03 for about 10 mos. now -- is give yourself a chance to get a feel for the car. It's pretty well balanced 'right out of the box.' So not a lot of modding is really needed to enjoy these things, unless you've just got deep pockets with nothing better to do with the cash. Have fun and good luck.

Yeah, SVT uses bigger brakes all around than the regular Focus, which means different rotors and pads.

^^^ I think it is.

You can do a full rotor/pad change out with good quality rotors and Hawk Pads for in the 300-400 range.... maybe a little less.

yea Hawk is the best. I shouldn't waited longer for my brakes and saved for them instead of my little bit cheaper ones.

brakes rear 19 per rotor front 25, pads 24 rear 25 front these are oem from my local parts house. Mazza auto parts. prices have come down since ford has started using disk brakes on all four corners on all foci.
