svt stock 0-60 time?

i was looking online at some stock svt 0-60 times since im tihnking about getting one and it said 0-60 is 8.6 seconds..is that right because i think thats awful slow...and also i saw the duratec forum had a post with a bunch of peoples dynos and their mods, does the svt page have anything like that, if not can anyone give me the stock whp and then the projected whp gains from a i/h/e setup or stuff like that

One thing to know is that the SVT is about as souped up as you can make it without going F/I. The header and exhaust are already top of the line for it. And if you drop a K&N into the intake, that's also pretty good. 0-60's aren't always what matter, but I guarantee that this thing will handle flawlessly in the curves.

it seems on average is between 15-16 with a short ram, i guess the question is which one to get now...but this does help...it seems like the duratec engines are easier to modify and you get more power out of them, or is that not the case? and also toms tune or hypnotic tune helps, how much do those cost and how do you get them

Between 15 and 16 what? Hope you don't mean whp. The Duratec engines do make more power than the Zetec, but oh well. I'm happy with what I have. Tom's tune is $150 plus the hand held programmer (SCT Xcal3 or Diablo Predator, both are ~$380).

I recorded my 0-60 and timed it in 6.7 with just an intake. Not fast but a lot better than 8

I run 6.7~7.0 depending on how warmed up the engine is. I have an intake, that's it. 8 seconds seems like the time for a normal ZETEC with a MTX75.

another thing to take into account is the traction control isnt deafeatable so when magazines were testing the SVT and they recorded the 0-60's..they will be slower than us who have a tune and get to turn our traction control completley off. I have a tune, an ORP and a drop in K&N and I have done 0-60in about 6.7 seconds
