Head gasket from NON svt focus 2.0...

http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?Pag...OD&ProdID=1110

I've heard installing this in place of our SVT head gasket raises compression which would increase hp/tq... is this true? And what would the compression raise too and would the car still take 91 or 93 gas? And what else would be needed to be done to make this work (if anything)? And what kind of gains would be seen? Thanks!

Prob would fit fine but raised compression not by much and i dont think it would be noticable.. but while you got the head off if you miled it just a tad and put that gasket on it then maybe a little more noticable but i havent seen anyone do just the gasket yet

You'ld pick up about .3 on your compression and you should have a tune to ensure your not going to melt a piston (it will change your AFR)

.3 eh? And with a re-tune what kind of gains would be seen would you think? And would I be able to keep the car on 93 octane? Or would it require higher?

Depends on the tuner ( I would suggest Tom for obvious reasons) and yes you should be able to stay on 93.

Yeah I already have a predator tune from tom... I believe he still modifies his tunes for you for free.... If I could stay at 93 octane and see some kind of hp/tq bump it seems a cheap mod since I ALWAYS run 93 octane anyways... would the gains seen be a cpl hp/tq overall?

Hmmm.... and on 93octane? Thats not too bad for $30... and I will be emailing you in the future when I finish my other bolt ons for a retune... so it "may" be worth the upgrade and re-tune...
