modifing current exhaust system

I am looking to improve the tone of my stock system. I have since removed
the resignator which definitly inproved the sound. Now I would like to change
the tone by installing a performance muffler. the question is there are two
mufflers one just before the rear wheels and one just after the rear wheels.
Should I remove both mufflers and replace with one preformance muffler
or leave one of the original mufflers in and install one performance muffler. I
definately don't want to hurt performance in doing something wrong. Suggestions?

i seriously doubt that you will lose any performance. My buddy has the same year model svt and he has it straight piped. sounds good.
but i dont think it would matter. maybe you should first take the secondary off and weld the muffler on, if you dont like it, take the other off as well

best of luck

Unless you're doing all of the labor yourself, you might save some money by finding a catback kit that you like.

I removed the one behind the wheels, the lunch box, and had the other replace with a Magnaflow, love the deep tone, and only ran me like $140 at a local muffler shop.

A HFC will improve tone immensely, I have completely different deep tone and still have all 3 mufflers. Plus youll get added performance.

The last muffler isn't actually a muffler, it's a resonator. It's best just to take it off and just have a tip there
