Head?

Anyone who has had their head ported! I am thinking about getting my head ported, its either that or save up my money and buy the stage 3 from CFM. Anyone have an aprox. $ amount for port jobs? Thanks

Im in pensacola florida and im going to get my head ported, polished and have a valve angle job done and some other tricks of the trade to my head and a newly opend shop here is going to charge me 750-800 for everything but thats not including getting my intakes ported to 1mm bigger which im planning on as well. I have an orp and k&n filter and im getting it dyno tuned and i plan on 170fwhp before the head job and planning on at least 200fwhp after the head job.. the cfm stage three head's flow numbers translate into 44hp so im acutally hopeing to raise my compresion and do the other stuff to my head to get that 44hp to the wheels or at least 40 so ill be pushing 210fwhp on stock block

I do want the CFM head though, I am actually going to build a motor with their short block and head. Just waiting for those cams.

yea i know what im talking about.. and ive done my research and like i said the cfm ported svt head calculates into 44hp difference. and the shop thats in my town here in pensacola florida has done some research and they believe they can get more than 44hp from the head.. im planning on running anywhere from 11 - 12 compression prob closer to 11.5 but i feel confident in the shop and that they know what there doing. and im not putting the head on a stock svtf either.. the cars already pushing about 168fwhp

Dont let these guys scare you off Colvin. They have just seen many guys get delusional about getting 10-15 whp out of each bolt on so they approach with skepticism which is understandable. Get the work done, dyno it and let us in on how she turns out. Thats your best route and BTW, Good luck!
