Try to do something new & end up with more problems

Hi all,

I decided to do the exhust rap everyone is talking about and after taking off the header i was looking at the rear Cat hanger and noticed it was broken. So i decided to take the cat and flex off but to do that i had to cut off the rusted bolts and press the left over stud out (not fun and i still have 2 left). While under there i also noticed that the hose that runs from the thermostat to the oil filter is starting to wear through, so that now has to be replaced. Was also planning on doing the iming belt and tensioner and idler, bt i'm oly at 134000 kms shoul;d i do it or just check it? I'm up to replacing the battery (Optima yellow), some exhaust bolts, that coolant hose, and the timming belt and pulleys. just hate how some times one good thing leads to more bad things.

It's probably better that you noticed it before something bad happened.

get it over with now with little hassle so you dont have the big hassle later on when something breaks while your driving or something.
Better safe than sorry sometimes.

Well, I got all my parts and have been working on my car getting it ready for summer. I purchased the Optima Red top b/c of my car being red and the fact that i do not have any major draws on the system. I wrapped my manifold and painted it with high temp paint, but it is flaking a little in spots already, and it seems still a little hot under the hood but cooler than before. I managed to fix the rear catalytic hanger and stop the rattling. I also got my coolant hose from the oil filter to expansion tube changed. I'm now working on the timing belt change i finally got my tool from OTC for the cams and while taking off the top cover, I cracked it because i failed to read that i had to remove the uper bracket first (no big deal just a crack fixed with epoxy). While i have the valve cover off i'm going to paint it red, a red that is as close as possible while still being high temp. I'll post some pics when all said and done.

Thanks for all the help on these forums guys.
