clutch explodes, driver doesnt know

03' Red SVT 5door 127,000 miles, yeah clutch lasted that long
Ok heres the story-
I let my roommate drive my car home from the bar which is about a mile away. He had been drinking and was pretty buzzed. The next morning, I got in my car and could smell the clutch and when I started it, it was seemed to be running on three cylinders. When I confronted him, he said he had no idea and it drove fine the whole way home. I ask, Is it possible to do this kinda damage and not know and can you do this in normal driving conditions? Ive confronted him saying there is no way he didnt know, and he sticks to his story.

Fixed with Luk clutch flywheel combo- $415+shipping, trans on ebay $550+75 shipping, 49,000 miles, and 500 labor for install. Those pieces of metal took out coolant lines $60 as well as the radiator $250.

Of course he didn't know, he was buzzed. That's two strikes against you... letting him drive it, and letting hime drive it drunk.

I'd say post your story on FML, but you'd probably get 70,000 votes telling you it's your own fault.

Have to agree with cayse on this one.
Not a tear from my eye on this one. Completely your fault for letting him drive it and driving it drunk to top it off.
I want to say so much more, but I'll bite my tongue

yep

Yeah I realize that, just sharing my story, not looking for your pitty. I didnt think that the clutch would cause so much damage. Anyway, was expecting it eventially reading how some have their clutch go out in forty thou miles and mine lasted over 125 thou.
