its probily because ur computer is set to run on the svt engine witch is alot higher compression and different cams and intake. are you running the zetec head and intake or the svt head and intake? u should problily get ahold of tom and get a retune for it. he might be able to help ya.

Wait...do you have a non-SVT in with the SVT computer? If so, that's your issue there. While similar the engines are quite different and the ECU's are not interchangeable. The only way to fix it would be get the proper ECU.

You would also need to change all wiring to the PCM and the the dash wiring, or it will never run right. When you change the PCM, a dealer will have to program your keys to it, or it will not start due to the PATS system. You would have been cheaper off to put an SVT engine back in.

PCM (or ECU) = computer

generally speaking a SVT motor can be had from Greenball or LKQ for a decent price... all you need is long block? and swap intake and all that jazz over...

I agree with everything that has been stated. The SVT ECU will not run a stock Zetec. You are going to spend a long time, and a decent amount of money to get that Zetec running right...

I would look into rebuilding the SVT engine....what on it broke?
