TSB 04-21-19 Am I eligible?

I have a very distinct clutch rattle while in Neutral and with the clutch disengaged. My car is an 04 Svt with 73k miles on it. I did not purchase any extended warranty with my car, nor do I have any performance enhancing mods. Am I eligible for this to be fixed at the dealer without me having to depart with my hard earned cash? Or is there a way i could sign up for an extended warranty and then head in sometime during the future and have it done.

Ok I did some more research on my part and found out that this will cost me money, since it is a TSB and not a recall. A friend who used to be a ford tech explained difference to me. I looked into some of the extended warranty plans which Ford offers, but unsure if the the cheaper of the four would cover it or not.

Ford ESP PowertrainCare is the foundation for all new vehicle component plans. If you want the advantages of a Ford ESP, but only want major mechanical component protection due to budget or other reaons, this is your recommended plan.

Transmission

* All internal parts
* Seals and gaskets
* Torque converter
* Transfer case, including internal parts
* Transmission case

$825 for 12 months $775 for 6 months

Would this extended warranty suit my needs for having this TSB addressed?

Check to make sure you don't already have the extended 100,000 5yr on your car. They did offer it on I think starting with the later 03 models. If you bought the car used, I think there was a $100 transfer fee(if it was even transferable?). Or I may be thinking of the $100 deductible if you ever had to use it.

The 5yr/100k mile Powertrain warranty came standard on the Focus in late 2003. This warranty stays with the car and there is no need to have it "transfered". People who were unfortunate enough to buy the ESP it earlier cars had to have the warranty transfered from owner to owner. This was usually a fee of $50.

The TSB you speak of will get your clutch replaced for free if your stealership is willing to do the work. The warranty starts from the first day the car was originally purchased. You would need the date that the original owner purchased the car to determine warranty status.

I just re-read the original post. You should be able to get your clutch replaced at no charge. Ford knows that the clutch on these cars sux. Hundreds of us have had the clutch replaced with no charge. In fact many of us have had it replaced multiple times. All for free! If they give you a hard time, talk to the service manager and explain this to him and have them call SVT. 18003673788

Its not covered beyond 3/36 warranty, period. The causal part was the pressure plate (7563 base number)and thats 3/36k. Thats how it works and theres no fine lines, hate to tell you that, but thats how it is.

After checking, my car did come with a 100k/5 year warranty. I'm under 100k but will have to look at paper work to see if I'm under 5 years from Original date of purchase. I am the original owner.

Can somone confirm/oppose his post? It seams to contradict what Scrammer posted.

Has anyone have this corrected past the 36k/3 year mark? If so what was your mileage and course of action to having them fix it.
