timing belt

what milage should i do a timing belt at? how much would it cost to have done at a ford dealer?

I think it's at 100,000 miles is when you should change it. Ford will charge you a lot more than what local garage will. Call around to get quotes.

I've got 83k on mine. I need to check my service manual because I think it might be about time to change the coolent.

Changeing your tranny fluid soon wouldn't hurt. I switched with RP Scyncromax.

im at 119k and some change (yah i know im pushing it)..i have all components waiting in my room..including the blue gates belt (:

and LEE the SVT manual calls for the timing belt to be changed at 120k

FWIW.....Timing belts are an unknown quantity. Nissan used to recommend a change at 60K. Then one year the manual recommended 100K, but the same belt was being used. Nissans break belts......usually over 110K, but sometimes less.

When I had Nissans with timing belts, I changed the belt around 60K. The belt is cheap, and the job not too difficult. I never broke a belt....lucky for me. The Nissans I had would bend valves if you broke the timing belt. Don't press your luck with the things....
