svt backfire

so i bought my svt in october used with 60k miles on it. when i decel or down shit i tend to backfire a bit. i wanted to know if this was normal. i know some cars do it if they have a sportier exhaust system.. im not sure if the previous owner did anything to it. im just worried he had it tuned differently than stock and took parts out.

Is it like a gunshot backfire? or is it fairly quiet like a small popping noise?

The small popping noise is awesome and completely normal. However if it's as loud as a gunshot, then it's bad.

I tend to backfire a bit when I down shit as well.

Seriously, it's probably just the normal SVT exhaust sound, they all do it and I wouldn't worry about it, unless as stated it's REALLY loud.
