um damn that. go speak with a lawyer. id also have to see it. it prolly can be fixed but id suggest that if you could have it totaled and get another then to do that. no matter how good a body shop is it will never be the same as it was. not trying to site promote but was looking on ebay earlier and had a good bit of svt's on there for under 7,000 buy it now.

Okay translated into modern English...

I got a 03 SVTF last night. However, I got rearended by a Honda truck. The rear of my car is badly damaged but he needs a whole new front end on his truck. Haha, Honda trucks are constructed from cheap metal.

Now to the serious matter, how much will it cost to fix it? Or should I opt for another SVTF if there is frame damage?

His insurance company only wants to shell out 8k for a car I paid 11k for the a few days ago.

I'm going to cry.

I would show the insurance company the invoice for the amount you paid for the car 3 days ago.

I would fix it, but I am also a certified welder and a trained machinist and have access to all the tools I need.

If you arnt going to fix it yourself it will cost a lot of money(probably more than the car is worth) and you are risking a lot, like never being able to be aligned again. Most car insurance companies will pay you the full price of the car if it is a recent buy, so tell them you bought it the day before and they may agree with you so they dont have to do the court bs.

that really sucks but how on earth did you pay 11k for an 03? I just got an 03 EAP for $5500...if you can't get the full price you paid out of your insurance company then I think you won't have any problem replacing it for $7-8k

oh and this thread belongs in the owners lounge or general car chat.

Thanks, that hurt my head to read.

If the frame is that damaged, I wouldn't want to drive it again. Even if repaired it will never be factory true.

it was the other cars fault, right?

dont let their insurance push you around. Make them pay the full amount and show them you just got the car 3 days ago.

They say no, you say, ok well my neck kinda hurts too, you will be hearing from my lawyer, and hang up.

Dont be surprised when they call you back talking about settling for the full amount.

And the 5500 the other guy paid for the 03 EAP was a stinking retarded low price. Most SVT's still go for 6-9k.
