Question I need help!

Hey all, I am new to FocusFanatics and I am hoping some one can help me. I have an 03 SVT and I love it, but I want to start adding some power. I also would like to know some websites where I can find everything I need. I am trying to decide if I want to go all out and go with the v8 swap or should I stay with the 4 cylinder and build it like crazy and throw in some boost??

Thanks guys

Weston

Throw some boost on it, specifically a turbo. Xios has a turbo, and lots of people run toms kit in Focus Power. I'd shoot him a PM for info.

Forget the the V8 swap idk why you would want to do that... but go with a turbo like jgustafson said. I started out just getting bolt-ons and then $600 down the road I was only getting like 10 more hp. I just found a turbo im going to get here in a couple weeks (thanks focusguy87), that will hopefully put me around 240hp. If you wait and wait like I did you can find a really good deal. Well thats just my reccomendation. But dont let what i said stop you from spending $10,000 to get a V8, its your car.

Turbo I4= WAYYYY less gas and $$$$$ than a V8! If it ain't broke, don't fix it- just build it up like hell! Good luck man!

Your svt is the same color and year as mine!! I'm just staring to tune mine. The first thing i did was remove the final resonator and replace it with a 3 inch tip. It doesn't noticeably increase power but my throttle response is much quicker and it feels smother at the high end.

You can drop in a small block V8 and have instant power and torque at very low rpms. You can sell your engine and tranny to offset the cost even more.

There isn't much performance options for the SVT anymore but they still make quite a bit of power goodies for whatever V8 you decide to drop in it.

Thanks

Thanks guys, I feel welcome, lol. So i guess i was just thinking about the v8 as a major hp adder. But I have not been able to find anything that would allow me to put out more than like 400whp out of a I4, thats going through CFM Performance and building a seperate engine which is fine with me I just want to know the best way.

Thanks again

Weston
