exhaust?

So the other day me and my buddy welded up a 2.5" catback for my SVT. While doing so i realized that the stock exhaust looked no different than the exhaust on my old ZX3. Whats different about them? Would a ZX3 catback system work on a SVT?

TIA

yea

yes a zx3 exhaust will fit but unless its 2.25" or bigger its only going to hurt. if im not mistaken the zx3 exhaust is two inch as the svt is two and a quarter. someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong

The flanges that bolt to the flex pipe are different, the SVT exhaust piping is bigger, and the SVT mufflers are non-baffled, I believe. They route the same, because it's basically the same engine type on the same car frame.

Post some pics of your new exhaust. Where'd you get it done?

the flanges are deff the same because ive done exhaust on my ZX3 and now i did it on my SVT they look identical. I was referring to the routing because i thought it was. Thanks guys. Me and my buddy did it ourselves with 2.5" piping. Sounds great.

only got a pic i got right now.

If I've read the forums correctly, the flanges are not identical... you need to slot an SVT exhaust flange to attach to a non-SVT flexpipe.

interesting. So say I wanted to put an exhaust system that is made for a ZX3 on my SVT i would have to slot the flange on the flexpipe?
