Exclamation Turbo for 2004 SVT

I think it was Motor Trend mag that had a brief spy photo of a 2004 Turbocharged SVT 3dr Foci, hp was about 225, enough to take on the Neon, anybody else see this?

Didn't catch the article but I did read where Shelby (in other news) has come back on board with Ford (with the Ford GT (aka~ rip off GT40) and how he expressed interest in having a hand in tuning the SVT Focus, so maybe he wants to relive the Chrysler years where he stuck Turbo's on everything from Mini-van's to Daytona's with the Focus which would suit me fine.

Other rumors and lies (hehe) came to me when I was at the Ford Dealership having service done (imagine that) and the salesman I was talking engines with swore on his mother's grave that an RS' ish variant (he claims Ford will use the SVT as the base) was coming in 2004 and that Ford will be outsourcing the Turbo installation (Like Mazda did with Racing Beat for the Mazdaspeed Protege'). Still, even with him telling me that the dealers recieved packets regarding this, I'm still prone to think he was "blowing wind up my skirt" and won't believe it's really coming until I can touch one at the dealer.

Local word from our local dealership is that Jack Roush is introducing a 2004 Roush Focus, supercharged dont know yet. Salesman stated that they all seen pictures when Mr. Jack Roush himself visited, but he eluded their questions about the engine.

If Shelby comes back to Ford that would be great but let him only stay with V-8's not 4 banggers. Reason i say this is because all the cars he did for Chrysler was a good idea but not a good job. You don't hear any hype about what he did for Chrysler or Dodge but what he did for Ford..... I think Ford should have gone with its plans of Cosworth making the Focus motor and I think that the SVT with a turbo would have the Neon lose it Colors......

shelby's cars for chrysler weren't terribly famous, but they were eonderful engines. he was ahead of his time, because a lot of those four-bangers could handle 25+ lbs. of boost stock. wonderful engines...

There won't be any changes to the 04 Focus, the 05 will be the year to look for.

Yes there will be a change in the Focus in 2006, but not the end of Focus. The Focus, Volvo and Mazda will share the same platform and engine as well. But certain sources say each car will have different options with luxury and 4 wheel drive. I went to a Volvo website and saw their Concept. [TIGHT!!!!] And I went to a German site for the Focus and it was[TIGHTER!!!!!]. They say that 2006 Focus will up there with the EVO and WRX. My SVT will be paid off by then..... But i wonder what the price tag will be........

Well I've heard similar Bs from a guy that works in a dealer, personally think it just a teaser to the dealer, see if people bite or something. Like let em know what might come and get an opinion.
