Tranmission Question

This one is for all the svt owners. I had to call ford today to get a price on the Trans Syncro set for my car and they told me i needed the info off the transmission tag. I was wondering if any of you out there would know where it is and what it says on it. Thanks!

AFAIK, you can't get replacement parts for the Getrag.
You may very well have to try and find a used one to scavenge what you need, or outright replace it.

If they need to know what "type" it is, the Getrag is known as the "MT-285", though I've never seen a tag on mine.

^^^Yeah, the axle seals and bearings can be found, but it's really too bad that's about it.
Maybe Ford didn't want to keep track of the inventory?
It's not like the tranny doesn't come apart to fix it.

wonder if the parts from the mini copper S would work, I think the only real difference is we have a different final drive ratio

Do you have any special rituals when the helmet is concerned like many have? - I wipe it so that I can see better.

The german trannys are the worst to try to track down parts for. ZF autos are really bad. MB too.
