whats that smell?!

i installed an oil separator and now smell something overheated/burning. no smoke.

when i removed the hose from the hard line to the tb it felt like i moved the hard line a bit, but didn't feel like a broke anything. very slight movement.

at the same time, i installed an 'open' (removed valve) PCV. when i started it, it idled rough. so i killed it and reinstalled a normal PCV.

runs perfectly fine now, and the separator is already catching oil after one day.

any thoughts?

also, where could i find an o-ring to fit my oil dipstick? the rubber ones i have installed disappear! and they fit snug! getting too hot?

what seperator did you install? if its a water seperator .. remove the filter.

sometimes water from condensation .. or even coolant will get into the oil in blowby.. and it stinks.

unless your catalytic converters are stinkin it up.. lol
