Broke SVT, need help!!

ok guys, i am new here.........i JUST bought a 2002 SVT focus, and it is broke down (yes i bought it that way)......it shredded a timing belt and bent a few valves, i have already verified that. I work at a ford dealer so i got a REALLY good deal on this car, and i am going to fix it up so i can keep my 07 GT at the house and keep the miles off it. I want your opinions, since i am new to the entire focus thing. Should i pull the head and sent it to a shop and have it re-valved and magnafluxed to check for cracks? or should i just buy a new head? does anyone know the BEST place to get an SVT head (stock or aftermarket), or anyone selling one? Do you think it messed up the cast aluminum pistons or are they fine? im sure this has happend to somebody before lol. thanks

i think you may have to buy a new head because they are interferance engines unless you are lucky and the head is still in good shape

i know they are an interferance engine, that is what i am afraid of.........i know it bent at least 6 exhaust valves because the followers arent even touching the cam. i wont be able to tell until i yank the head, but i dont think it could have hurt the head THAT bad. hopefully just the valves, but like i say, im new to the focus stuff. Thank you for your fast response egman.

no problem. I have seen the aftermath of the timing belf braking from cars on this site and i dont think the heads were able to be salvaged.

Definitely worth $1000. You can get a PnP SVT head for a little over a grand. What color is it?
