well first off, if you stay under 5000rpms your DSI will never open anyways, so it wouldnt make a difference. So staying under 4000 just to be safe will not affect anything in the car what so ever!

next, and someone correct me if im wrong, but i believe you can still rev all the way untill you hit the rev limiter, obviously the DSI wont open up, but ive heard that it really doesnt harm anything, you just wont get the air to the engine as fast!

im saying this cause i think some FI guys on here with SVTF have a broken clip and just leave it cause the FI messes things up or something...on the otherhand i think they prefer leaving it in the open position...just my $.02!

Does a CEL come on if there is a problem with DSI or IMRC or do you have to just run a diagnostic on it? I have no CEL but am worried that I may have one of these problems.

I'm not sure as I replaced mine before it broke, but I would think that most likely when you first turn the car on and the DSI activates and the computer found out it doesn't work it would kick on the CEL. But I believe that it would only come on if the IMRC was not working properly. Just do a visual inspection: Have a buddy turn the car on to run position while you look at the actual DSI Lever/Clip and see if it moves, Also with the car running rev the car up past 5k and see if the lever does switch over. Hope this helps you.

Does it make any noises? Not sure if this is the DSI but, my friends makes a cranking/grinding sound over and over like....rahh....rahh...rahh...rahh...there is a cable that keeps spining around and around and he just put vice grips on it and said it.

Is that the DSI? Its located on the manifold side toward the bottom.....
