HELP! SVT shifter assembly

Hello focus fanatics, i have been a member for a while but fortunately have not had many problems with my focus until now.

Im just curious if this has happened to anyone else, and if so what did you do to fix it. I was trying to back out of my garage the other day and found that my car would not go into reverse, the shifter was floppy and it would only slip into first no matter how much i tried pulling it towards the left. First i thought it was the cables but upon inspection i found that the 5th/reverse assembly on the shifter was broken. Ford used a plastic bushing to attach the shifter to the piece and it broke--essentially disconnecting the shifter from the piece that attaches to the shift cables. Has anyone had this problem before? I know car manufactures save money by using plastic but seriously, in a shifter that experiences thousands of shifts a year (not to mention on a performance minded car like the SVT which they know people tend to drive a little harder than average). This is pretty frustrating as little odd parts for the SVT have ceased to exist from dealer inventories. Is this part the same on non-SVT foci? My guess is no, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can expect to service two things on the Focus SVT quite often. They are those of the intake-related and transmission-related because they are very complicated.

I doubt it's the same as a non-SVT assembly, but I don't know for sure. I can poke around the Ford manual tonight.

There are also a few people parting out SVTs in the Classifieds forums... they may be able to help.
