Code:P1518 IMRC Stuck open

P1519

I just pulled this code at Checkers yesturday. Read out that the intake manifold runner control stuck open. I haven't had any problems with it over revving other than when I first got it "2 days ago" since then has not done it. I was also told by a local guy and also works as a Ford Parts Manager that the IMRC might be failing.

Thanks for any Help,
Pat

Mine started throwing the code. It was the IMRC. Get in touch with Mike (b16sir1991) on the Hilbish Forum. He can get you one for a very reasonable price. It is not that hard to switch out, There are plenty of thread on here about it. I would definitely suggest removing the driver side headlight. Good luck

I did notice today when driveing it that it felt like a turd for a couple mins going through stoplights. But it pickup after driving it out on the freeway. It dosen't feel like it has the power that other SVT had that I have test drove before. I can get a deal from the Local Ford parts guy "Same deal as Mike".

Mine does a high Idle when first started up. Then when taking off it feels kinda Doggy I don't know if all SVT's are like this. From what I remeber From the 2 or 3 that I have test drove I don't remeber them being doggy one I remeber being very Responsive on the throttle.

nahhh, mine was just sticking.... like i'd hit 5k, my CEL would come on. i'd drive it around and it would feel the same. i believe that if its stuck in the open position the short runner is causeing it to be doggy @ low rpm. mine just got stuck open and i heard a hesitation as my engine came down from 5k.

You lose your low end torque. Bobkat that is how mine started acting up (sticking) but it progressed to complete shutdown. It is very noticable with your in-town driving. Made me like my car again once I fixed it.
