Stock 2004 SVT Tire. What was it?

Guys.. and probably gals,

Car I just picked up has 28K for miles and tires seem to be in great shape. I'm curious to know what the stock tires were for a 2004 SVT Euro? Tires on the car now are Fusion HRI 215/45/17's.

If they aren't stock and anyone is running these tires, I'd like to get your impression.

Thanks.

I don't know if they kept them for all three model years, but the original tire on the 2002 was the Continental ContiSport Contact, 215/45/17. Decent tire, but I found mine wore down REAL fast, and had an annoying tendency to "tramline" on the freeway. Replaced those with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and have been totally pleased. No experience with the Fusion, sorry.

Hmm. ok. I did some research on the Fuzion tires at tirerack.com and there were some good replies. One thing is the seem to be very good in the rain, which is always a plus. They are basically new, so makes me wonder why they put all 4 on with 28K? Probably just something used car lots do, I guess.

My Focus ate through it's contisport contacts in 25,000 miles, and I had them replaced shortly thereafter, so it's normal for these tires to wear down quickly. They are summer tires and are definitely not made for longevity. I have BFG's on my car..I love them and I got a good deal at 100 bucks a piece. I've had falkens, which were arguably the best tires i've ever had, but the contisportcontacts did make a lot of noise on the freeway. If by "tramline" you're talking about the car sticking to small cracks in the freeway and following them, every tire i've had on my focus did that..I think it's a summer tire thing.

My original Contis were gone WAY before 28K.
I'm certain they put new tires on your car for safety reasons.
At those miles they were most likely down to the cords.
