Intake mani question

the other day my starter we out. well to get the starter i decided to pull off the intake manifold. i got looking and theres these two rubber pieces sitting inside the intake port on cylinder 2 and 3. i have never seen anything like that before and this isnt my first time looking at a intake port on a head. kinda got me worried to put the intake manifold back together and fire it up. any help would be great

2 rubber pieces? they may be from the o-rings from the intake runners. are they white?
i would remove all the o-rings and put it back together. Tom from Focus-Power has done this with no ill-effects.

and to FF.com!!

This is not going to turn out good unless you pop a picture and put it up here.
I highly recommend it. safety first.
