...another tune question!

i had toms tune on my car, and flashed back to stock to take it to the dealership, when i got it back i had cel lights, 4 codes in full, i drove it for a while at least 1.5 tanks of gas and quite a few miles, but the codes never reset themselves, i cleared them and they just kept coming back...

then i loaded DS's performance tune while i was waiting for Tom to get back to me with the tune file...the cel went away, and after manually looking up the codes the predator said, no codes found...then i flashed back to stock, and then to toms tune...of course no codes again...(gotta love toms tune)

i was wondering if the reason for ^that^ is because the predator didnt properly store my factory tune, or it became corrupt...if the original backup tune was in someway corrupt could it cause these problems and still run, or would my problem be way worse?

also would it be a wise idea to tune to stock, get a dealership to update my factory tune, and then load the tune...also assume i can get the factory update for a very reasonable price or free!

im trying to diagnose a possible pcm problem also so this info would help!

i have another post that someone may or may not be able to answer!

TIA guys, you guys have helped save my foci quite a bit!

i had posted the exact codes in technical chat about a week ago...

i dont remeber all of them but the descriptions are...

alternator load...(i do have the cfm alternator pulley)

(p0141) 02 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2 (could be a bad rear o2 sensor, makes sense but im not set that it is 100% that because...)

powertrain control module error...while on stock tune, i cleared it, the DS predator says its normal for perf. tuned vehicles, but i flashed it back to stock, drove it for a week or more, and it still never went away, upon clearing it and restarting it always comes back immediatly

and the last one was the p1000 code, like obd readiness, i heard thats nothing but idk

oh and i have toms tune back on and running with no cel and no codes, my thought though is that either the stock tune file is somehow corrupt, or in my case maybe toms tune is ignoring not just the o2 sensor codes, but the rest of them also...

Thanks for helping me figure this one out!

I have gotten a CEL with tom's tune: Alt. Load - for the low idle I think/ 02 heater code - I think for when crusing around 50/ 2k with almost no pedal the car will sometimes buck lightly and then it will kick that code. And I think almost every time I have cleared the codes there is the obd readiness code.

When they smog test do they stick a pipe up the exhaust or do the just check the dtcs? I believe if there is no CEL on you basically pass. At least that's what I have heard when I lived in TN, and NC. Lucky me I have no inspection or testing in SC.
