With VCT the computer controls the amount of timing advance. When you delete the VCT, most will put on adjustable cam gears. Then they custom tune the car by adjusting the cam gears to where the best power is made. I have heard they help a lot in FI applications. In reality on a NA engine you are not gaining any HP by doing this, I believe you are just getting the power sooner in your rpm range.

so with a vct delete i could use the zetec adjustable cam gears...

ie 2 of them instead of just the exhaust gear?

Just remember if you do this it would be recommended to get the car dyno tuned to make sure you don't F it up.
