tune question!

ive been changing between tunes...i had toms tune, but i had to flash back to stock, and then while i was waiting for the tune i used DS's tune, and then now im finnally back to toms tune again!

my question is i never read anything about pulling fuses, so i didnt.

so my question is why are you suppose to pull the fuses, is it just a precaution or could i screw something up?

tia, Dallas

I don't and never have pulled the fuse or detached the battery, but I can't answer for sure wither you should.

When I first got the diablo tune I pulled fuses, first got Tom's tune didn't pull any fuses. Put it back to stock for warranty work didn't pull any fuses, reloaded diablo tune didn't pull fuses, reloaded Tom's tune pulled fuses. So you should and you don't have to is what I get. Loaded quicker with pulled fuses. I guess it is all up to you. It would be nice if Tom posted on this thread with his .02.

This is straight out of the Xcal2 User Manual hope this helps:

Quote:
It is a good idea to turn off all accessories such a stereo systems while flashing. You must also pull the fuel pump and fan fuses to prevent these from drawing vehicle power during a flashing session. This is especially helpful for vehicles that take a longer time to flash, such as the SVT Focus. If the vehicle’s battery is in question, you might wish to connect a battery charger during the flashing process.

It is allways best to pull the fuses , there are a few that have Predators with some stuff I have been playing with so you dont have to pull the fuses but has some side effects so went back to the old crom file ,

Pull the fuses is allways best #46 and 61

It wont hurt anything to not pull them it may just fail loading then you will have to pull the fuses and reload the stock tune , then load my tune back into the predator then load the tune back into your car again , a lot of trouble to not just pull the 2 fuses

Tom
