OBX LSD for Getrag!?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-F...em140222781972

Maybe this is old news. But I never remember OBX making the LSD's for the 6-speed SVT trans, just the MTX-75 (5 speed for the numbs).

Now the Honda guys swear buy the OBX LSD's. They just say when you get them, take it apart and clean everything really good. Re-assemble and it's one the the best LSD's on the market.

What do you guys think?? $400 isn't bad compared to Torsen and Quaife.

Quaife is expensive for a reason.

I've heard horror stories about the obx lsd, search it on the forum. The internals are shit people have taken them apart and replaced the washers and shit inside of them. I wouldn't gamble my transmission on a few bad washers.

When you can get a torsen for 525 from mike at hilbish, why would you even consider the obx man.

i read a lsd thread on here once and a guy was saying the plus's and minus's of torsen or quaife and then mention OBX and said not on even on my lawn mower...i would have to say several people on here would be good enough reason not to get an OBX...

go big or go home

i'm putting a friggin LSD on my lawnmower now. might affect that turn-on-a-dime radius, but who do you know that can corner at .92g with their john deere and maintain traction at both wheels?

but really, not recommendin OBX

Well I have a local performance shop that has delt with them. They say they're great LSD's after they rebuild them with their own parts. They said they got a couple Honda's with them that are seeing 500+ hp.

Hmm.. we'll see.

Think about how much work it takes to install...do you want to put something in there in question of quality and performance that may require you to rip apart to repair or even replace your transmission/surrounding components. There are some things you just don't **ck around with.
