'08 plunge.....maybe

Well I just turned over 125,000 orginal miles on my '03 SVT and have the opportunity to buy an '08 2dr coupe in Ebony, loaded, and with a 5 sp! Taking a test drive after work next week in one with an automatic to see how I like the fit, etc., and then if the #'s are right, the dealer is gonna order the car for me since manual transmissions are hard to find on that trim level. Here's the basics; SES in Ebony, 5 sp, black leather interior, foglights, ABS/Traction control, SYNC system, moonroof, ambient lighting and the 6 disc, mp3 player. Its still not a 'sure' thing, but I told the dealer, if the numbers are favorable, then I'm down with it. If I do wind up making the deal, I think I am going to start my own buildup but from the standpoint of handling i.e. coilovers, big brake kit, ss brake lines, new wheels & tires, etc, then move to turbo, exhaust, etc, etc, etc. It will be my 3rd Foci. From the time the car is ordered to the time I take delivery is approximately 60 days. I'll let you all know what happens.

I say rebuild the svt engine bigger and badder than it has ever thought of being...and for a butt ton less money. Yes, I said butt ton. Larger than an ass load, but smaller than a shit ton.

If you are going to at least keep it in the Ford family trade it in on the Mazdaspeed3!! It's the sister to the focus but even better. This is the last year to pick one up new...keep that in mind!

Don't do it!!!!! You are going to trick out that new 08? What for? You already have an SVT!!! Since you have an 03 it's probably paid off by now. Why would you want another 5 years of car payments for an inferior model? This doesn't make any sense. The idea of a new car might sound good now....but believe me within a few months you will regret trading in your SVT and will miss it dearly. Don't take the leap Vorrtrek....there is no water at the bottom of this pool!!

Why would you go from a SVT to an '08? You gain nothing...
