SVT gears

Started a thread a while back on gear ratios 4.06 final drive
One option raised was swapping in the cooper s's gears of the same into my transmission since it is a getrag as well. If i do this would it net me any acceleration benefits, is it an easy drop in?

This would be a great upgrade... I do know the MCS was given an update to the 6-speed's internal gears for improved acceleration, but I don't know what the exact specs are on the old or new ones. You'll have to get some Mini people on the boards here to help out.

Its not the fact that I want a straight line car but that I think the only thing holding this car back from being the ultimate all around package is the gears. I say this since a mini cooper S of the same year was heavier with 10 less horsepower yet got to 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. If i swap in those gears in theory i would have the same acceleration times if not better. This would also get me close to a Mustang GTs time of the same year. Conspiracy theory anyone?

Not sure, but i'm going to be adding the larger throttle body so i think the throttle response would be the same.
