Traction Control

I have a 2003 SVT. I dont have the TC button, but I was curious if there is still something in the computer that limits spinning the wheels. I don't want to necessarily spin the wheels because the wheel hop tears up the front end. just curious if this affects overall off the line accelertation.

I also dont have the TC, I can spin the wheels if i want, but at the same time experience a fair amount of torque steer.

Agreed, TC just makes the car bog down all the time badly, I'm getting a tuner from Tom just so I can get ride of the TC.

Not all of Tom's tunes can get rid of TC. When he did mine it still would not turn completely off. When I go to the strip with mine I just pull #46 fuse.

my car has TC but everyone says when they turn it off it still doesnt go completely off. this is not the case with my car because i live down a dirt road and raise hell in my car and rally it around the corners all the time and my car will fry the front tires on asphalt if i turn the tc off as well as spin for a 1/4 mile up the dirt road.

It's not the tune that's the problem; it's the late '04 ECU. For some reason, you simply cannot disable TC below 25mph on a late '04 SVT no matter what you do.

TC is a control mechanism that's tuned specifically for the car. It is meant to work optimally when the engine has stock power and the tires are similar in size and grip to the Continental ContiSports. If you have increased power and/or less grippy tires, it is much easier to overcome TC. It will still try to correct the wheelspin, but won't be as effective.
