DSI (non-clip question)

I am pretty sure that this is gonna turn into a "tune" answer, but.... Is there any way you can make it open in a lower RPM range? Mine opens at 6k and i heard that some peoples opens up at 5.. Anyway you can change that or is that a tune type of thing

Just FYI: I read somewhere recently (think it was one of WD40's replies) that the stock tune on 2004 now opens at 5K

^^^ well wouldnt it turn on when u go WOT due to RPM climb? For anything else you would need a tune. Thats my problem lol I want a tune but no money.

The '04 ZED0 tune opens the runners @ 5K. Previous tunes did the deed @ 6K. I think Ford had a YRF0 factory retune for older cars that changed it (amongst other things) to 5 K. They should still reflash your car for free if you ask.

As far as opening the runners sooner, (and they are a rack of tubes that actually move and join with the fixed short tubes), going to the short tubes too soon will cost torque. Aftermarket tuners have played with this and everyone sticks around the 5K range. There IS a reason!
