New (to me) SVT and new to the site

I just got my SVT from my brother. Its all stock. I want to install a dual exhaust. Any pro and cons? (I know i'll probably lose 1 maybe 2 hp) but nothing signficant. Also what is a good first performance upgrade?
Thanks,
-Mike

dont waste money on a SRI, get a drop in k&n. it will flow just as well for 1/4 the price. the car as it sits is pretty much free breathing. if you get exhaust get 2.5" or larger, anything smaller and you will be hurting not helping. the exhaust stock breathes very well. also dont go looking for any aftermarket header, cams, etc. the stuff you have is pretty much the best stuff you can get for a zetec. get a good tune from tom, k&n drop in, 2.5"-3" exhaust and ORP for decent gains. if its still not enuf go FI. welcome to FF and i hope the clutch/flywheel has been replaced already.

Incorrect. An SRI will flow more air (cfm) than the stock box with a K&N. Been there, done that and tested it myself on a flowbench.

The disadvantage to an SRI is that unless you find a way to get ambient temp air to the filter you will get heak soak which negates most performance gain.

Don't waste your time or money on an exhaust system UNLESS you plan on going full cat/flex back 3" diameter, ORP/HFC *AND* a tune (Toms works really well on my car). I picked up nearly 20hp at the wheels with the mods I have and I'm still NA.

dual exhaust on a 4cyl is soley for looks. there are no performance gains with dual exhaust when there is only 1 bank of cylinders.
i have heard that SRT-4 rear pipes are a good base to play with when fabbing duallies for our cars.

i agree with the others.
K&N (drop-in OR conical mounted onto MAF)
Tune

there are literally hundreds of threads here on where to start with your SVT.
from shifters, intakes, exhaust, suspension, flash tuners to forced induction.
take the time to wonder around the SVT Performance forum for hundreds of ideas and thousands of opinions.
if you are looking for something specific, dont hesitate to use the SEARCH button.
