You can clearly see the tach reaching redline faster.

25lbs vs. 12lbs, I cant see how that wouldnt be effective. With the whole rotating mass Mumbo Jumbo.

This may sound like a dumb question, but does a lighter flywheel make it hard to drive in first or second gear when cruising at slow speeds? (i.e. searching for a parking spot). I had heard this somewhere, but forgot who or what the source was and just wanted someone to validate this question.

The answer is no!! The flywheel makes it easier and faster for the engine to hit redline. A lot of people say its not good for going uphills because the RPM drops drastically during gear shifts. I have had a lightened flywheel on my GTS corolla and believe me, it made a huge difference in engine performance. It is perfect for autocross and drifting. The uphill thing has never been an issue. IT IS WORTH IT!!!

It's not the lighter flywheel that's the problem; most people get an upgraded clutch at the same time, which takes some re-learning in situation like finding a parking spot, where you're constantly changing between first gear and neutral.
