Tune Question

I bought my 2002 SVTF a couple of months ago and it needed a few things doing to it.

I finally got to drive it yesterday and I took things fairly easy.

There are, however, a couple things that I would like some advice on.

First of all, when I first start the engine the revs go up to around 3k and then stay there for a few seconds before coming back down to around 1k. This seems a little high to me so I'm wondering if something to do with the tune.

The second thing (which is probably related to the first thing) is, when I slow down and stop (eg. at an intersection) and push the clutch in, the revs go right up to around 3k for a few and then drop off.

So my questions are:

1 Are my problems related to the tune or are they likely to be somewhere else?

2. Is there a way I can check to see what tune the car has and if the tune I have is not stock, is there a way I can get it back to stock without having to buy a preditor or whatever.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Davva

Sounds like to me you need a tune and that your SVT never got the latest Ford tune

My car has a AEM SRI on it. I will check to make sure that it is sealed correctly.

Thanks svt4cus

As for the "latest Ford tune", is that something Ford will do for free or will they charge me?

Oh....OK. I haven't seen any other threads relating to this but i will look again.

When you say, "lil rev up" do your engine revs get up to 3k?

Co-incidentally, I've just got a CEL come on. It's code 1506 (Idle Air Control Overspeed Error). Guess that's related.
