Question Throttle body - 2 Questions.

1. Who makes this throttle body?

2. And why is the pedal so much stiffer after its installed?

I am not having the plate stick to the inside like I have read in other posts. This throttle body makes you put more force on the accelerator. I kinda like the feel of the stocker better than this aftermarket one. I know I haven't gotten the feel for the new one, only installed for a couple day. But I do believe the stocker felt more managable.

The only thing so far I like about this aftermarket piece is that it tightens the throttle cable a little and raises the gas pedal a little higher from the floor. Makes it more comfortable to heel/toe, well besides the stiff pedal response. Could this be making it that much stiffer, a tighter throttle cable? Or does it have to do with the spring?

Do yourself a Favor and try to swap springs with the OEM TB. Thats probably where your getting the bind, The new TB has a much stiffer spring..

You can swap the springs. Hmmm, I might have to try that.

Thanks guys. I will obviously keep it in for a little bit longer and see if I get used to it or it loosens up a little. I also notice it feels at sometimes there is an on/off switch for the engine to come life lol. I keep moving down on the accelerator and then you can feel a defenite point where the car jumps to life instead of being instantaneous. Happens every once in a while. Minor annoyance.

I will be cleaning the MAF and the K&N Drop in filter and opening the gap a little more. Plugs are gapped at .037 right now. Will move it out to .040. I know the TPS is ok. Was working before the swap.

It definately looks like a Focus Central throttle body (which everybody agrees with).

However, my FC throttle body is EASIER to press in than the stock one! I loved it the minute I put it on! I don't know if the spring was changed out because I bought it used.
